MARSEILLE PRESIDENT CARNOT
Covered Vegetable Bowl and Lid This is a Vibrant  Haviland and Co. French Limoges Marseille President Carnot Covered Vegetable Bowl and Lid in a  fabulous  colors of huge pink roses, yellow flowers and light brown vines and stems strewn over each side of this lovely dish in the Marseille blank (shape).  The rose sprigs and gold highlights are magnificent. There is a marvelous Marseille finial, with a pink and gold outlined leaf floating upwards to the cresting wave that ends as the finial (see fourth picture).  Both handles are  gold daubed. 

Made in France by the Haviland family, with the green underglaze mark H & Co over L and  decorator mark of "Haviland & Co.  Limoges" dates this plate from 1879 to 1889.   There are no chips, cracks or crazing. There are  slight manufacturing flaws.  There are light glares in the photos.  

Dimensions:  9 5/8 inches long, 7 3/4 inches wide and with lid 5 1/8 inches high.
